“Horizons VII” by William Omurcada (b. 1947), 1984 hand-pulled serigraph on paper, signed & numbered 205/400, 26×40 inches
Vintage William Omurcada “Horizons VII” serigraph – layered mountain landscape rendered in atmospheric color bands, hand-pulled limited edition print signed and numbered 205/400, a refined example of American modern landscape serigraphy.
Artwork Description
“Horizons VII” is a contemplative panoramic serigraph depicting successive mountain ranges receding into a luminous sky. Omurcada builds depth through meticulously layered color fields, transitioning from deep shadowed foregrounds to softened midtones and pale, atmospheric distances. The abstracted contours of the mountains create a rhythmic visual cadence, while the restrained palette evokes stillness, scale, and quiet grandeur. The upper register features lightly broken cloud forms that enhance the sense of elevation and spatial openness. Printed on archival paper, the sheet measures approximately 26 × 40 inches. The lower margin bears the artist’s hand-written title “Horizons VII,” signature, date, and edition number 205/400 in pencil, confirming authenticity and limited-edition status. The work exemplifies Omurcada’s mature landscape vocabulary, where minimalism, atmosphere, and precision printmaking merge into a poetic visual experience.
