ROCKING CHAIR is a signed limited edition offset print by Susana Fabiani capturing a tranquil domestic moment, rendered in ethereal pastel tones with romantic realism and quiet narrative depth.
Artwork Description
ROCKING CHAIR is a limited edition offset lithographic print by Argentine artist Susana Fabiani, produced circa the 1970s and published by Mitch Morse Gallery, New York. The composition depicts a contemplative scene of a woman seated in a rocking chair and a young child nearby, set on a veranda overlooking a softly rolling landscape. The intimacy of gesture and posture evokes themes of motherhood, reflection, and stillness.
Fabiani’s hallmark romantic realism is evident in the velvet-like flesh tones, sculpted yet atmospheric backgrounds, and layered pastel palette. Perspective is used subtly to create depth and distance, drawing the viewer into a calm, suspended moment. While translated through offset printing, the image retains the delicacy and tonal nuance associated with Fabiani’s original paintings.
The work measures 26 × 20 inches, with an image area of approximately 22 × 16 inches, and is signed and numbered 28/500 in pencil. It remains unmatted, never framed, and never displayed, with the image area in very good, frameable vintage condition.
